LA Shines Against Nightwings

August the 6th saw Los Angeles facing an exciting Nightwings team of Denver. Fans who expected to watch a Lycans team who gave up 38 points from last week were in for a rude awakening. LA looked like a competent team as they won in Overtime by a score of 30-27 against Denver.

The Lycans offense exploded, putting up 463 total yards: A far cry from 203 against the Fury in Week 1. "Coach (Ryan) Yoseph told us to move on from last week and focus on this week," explained WR Elzie Pryor. "We had to set the tone." The wide receiver group of Los Angeles pumped in 338 yards with both Pryor and Chris Lee leading the way with 172 and 120 respectively. Denver's dynamic halfback Baylee O'Shaughnessy ran for 287 yards on 48 attempts and scored 3 touchdowns in a dominant fashion.

Lycans WR Chris Lee jumps for joy after an awesome reception.
Along with Pryor, Chris Lee was a mad man! He racked up 120 yards on 4 receptions!

The Nightwings marched down the field on their first 2 offensive possessions with a 4-yard rushing TD from O'Shaughnessy and a 23-yard FG form Kicker Hudson James. On LA's 2nd offensive possession (with the ball on their own 33- yard line), QB Sully Richardson threw a dot to WR Chris Lee for a 67-yard touchdown. Passing seemed to be the word of the day for the Lycans offense. Although Richardson threw an interception, he ended his night tossing two TDs and spreading the ball to different receivers (TE Jack Flash grabbed the other). HB Logan Jack ended his night rushing for 65 yards on 18 attempts and scoring a touchdown.

The defense of the Lycans put in a good amount of work in the game. CB TD Jack snagged an INT outside LA's endzone and took it back to the Lycans own 20. MLB Tazzy Blackwell had a huge sack on QB Gene Struthers and OLB Garrett Hudson almost forced a fumble.

Denver took the ball down the field in the 4th Quarter and forced overtime with a 40-yard field goal from Kicker Hudson James. The Lycans received the ball and proceeded to put on an offensive clinic. Richardson connected with Elzie Pryor and Terrance Weary on two consecutive plays to set up a 29-yard game winning field goal from Sid O'Lindy.

Los Angeles moves to 1-1 and moves into an early Bye Week. Next, they will welcome Pacific Division rivals in a newly renovated Lycanthrope Lair for their Home Opener.
