With a controversial ending of Season 15, the Chicago Wildcats were put up for sale. An Ownership Group comprised of Tom Ramen (Las Vegas Fury) and Rachelle Colston (Carolina Skyhawks) won the bidding war for the former Chicago team. They relocated the team to Los Angeles; and, the Lycans were born!
The Lycans are the second team to ever play in Los Angeles (The Sharks played Seasons 7 and 8). They are also (with the inclusion of the LA Sharks) the fifth team to play in California: San Francisco Bulldogs (Season 3-6), San Francisco Sharks (Seasons 10-13), and the San Diego Mavericks (Season 16-present).
