This has not been what we've envisioned before the start of the season. We have to figure this thing out before we run out-of-time." Sully Richardson

After a 34-10 West Division loss to the Vancouver Legion, Los Angeles are now 1-3 (0-2 West) and coming off their second bye week. Kicker John Smith hit a 49-yard field goal in the 2nd quarter and Quarterback Sully Richardson hit Wide Receiver Chris Lee for a 77-yard touchdown in the 3rd quarter. Those two occurrences were the only two bright spots for the Lycans as Vancouver control the entire game on both sides of the ball. "You cannot win in any sport if you don't score. We have to put points on the board! It's imperative," said Halfback Daricus Iniguez after a recent practice. LA's game plan seemed simplistic as there were multiple run plays on first and second down, followed by a pass on third down. Along with two interceptions thrown by Sully Richardson, Week 5 was not LA's day.

Breaking the Totem Pole Mentality

The second bye week has come and gone for Los Angeles. The climate appears to be surprisingly different compared to this time last season. Players have been flying around and coaches have been motivated for this week's third West Division matchup against Sin City. The Samurai (also coming off of their bye week) secured their first victory of the season against the Washington Trident 14-8 in Week 5. Sin City are a few season's removed from playing in the Season 23 SFL Championship game (as the Canton Classics), and made the playoffs in their inaugural season. "Sin City is a great organization with a rich history. You cannot overlook anyone in the SFL," said Tight End Adam Grabowski about the Samurai. Week 7 action starts at 10pm ET/7pm PT (August 22) on Virtual Football Network!
